Degrassi: the Next Generation is perhaps the best teenage drama ever created. The series started in 2001 as a sequel to Degrassi High. The original students of the series included Paige Michalchuck, Jimmy Brooks, Spinner Mason, Ashley Kerwin, Terri MacGreggor, Liberty Van Zandt, Toby Isaacs, Sean Cameron, James Tiberius (JT) Yorke, Emma Nelson, and Manny Santos. Each character was certainly diverse and had their own personality, They went through thick and thin with each other and stayed close no matter how tough things got. Emma was raped, Paige was raped, Terri got an abusive boyfriend who shot Jimmy, and JT got Liberty pregnant before he was stabbed. Full of drama? Yes. Sadness and hilarity? Yes. True friends? Definitely. All these characteristics define a great teenage drama, and Degrassi: the Next Generation is certainly one of them.
